Currently residing in Coolum, Jack MacRae has been influenced by his Architectural practices and studies to develop his skills and knowledge as an artist. Most of his works stems from the process of hand-cut collages.

Jack MacRae began mainly working with coloured paper to create Hard Edge, colourfield landscapes. These can then be painted and transformed into much larger scaled works; and is further developing into greater explorations of autonomy, colour, materials and techniques. MacRae has worked for people who solemnly believe in hand drawing and creating, their ethoses have been embedded within his design practice; to create something physical - as opposed to being stuck in Atari World.

Having only recently started to create art, it is quickly becoming a means of avoiding a ‘real job’, as MacRae has been involved in several shows in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Northern Rivers, as well as been an artist in residence in Murwillumbah, Iceland and Amsterdam.
